ESS offers a range of unique and sometimes one-off products using fabrics and yarns once designed and woven by fabric manufacturer E&S Smith Ltd in Bradford. Their collection of bags, backpacks and other accessories make a great treat for yourself or an ideal gift for a friend or family member.

Richard and his wife Lynne started ESS to repurpose lengths of quality fabrics woven by the family mill between its commencement in 1935 to its closure in 2005.

The fabric lengths were originally woven as design prototypes and colourway trials for illustrious furnishing projects in prestigious hotels, cruise liners, TV and film sets and deluxe homes all around the globe.

Using the fabrics from the family mill's back catalogue of 'Woven in Bradford', these design ideas led to orders that kept the mill busy for almost 70 years and, as all these stunning gifts & accessories have been made locally, you now get the chance to own a beautiful piece of Yorkshire weaving history.
