Rigg Countrylife Backpack
Rigg Countrylife fabric (ref: 2005 Rigg pond life) was created in 2005 as one of 3 trial ‘novelty’ fabrics. The aim of this trial was to develop a coloured tapestry fabric to successfully compete against the imported offers from Flemish weavers.
The 4 coloured tapestry warp settings and complex weaves enabled numerous colourways to be woven from the same warp. Designers use the same pattern but by using a technique called stepping to use different warp colours on the face.
Fabric composition: a mix of cotton, viscose & polyester.
