  • Our limited edition Giclée print ref HG6540 is a high-resolution reproduction of an original hand-painted artwork. This art was designed to scale for the pattern's conversion into woven fabric. A small insight into the fashion of the day.
There are several notations on the artwork relating to the weave technicians' instructions and the weavers' production number.

The original art was acquired from the archive of weaver Herbert Green, Silsden, West Yorkshire, UK when the company ceased trading in the early 2000s. The artwork was used in the 1960s by textile design company Walbank and Parkin of Bradford, who generated the jacquard loom cards the weaver required. The design may have been painted by one of Walbank and Parkin's employees or by an independent designer working on their behalf or for the weaver, Herbert Green. It is also possible that the artwork was commissioned by the weavers' end fabric wholesale customer who sold fabrics!
Quite a back story for this brightly coloured artwork
