  • Sizes is from an original Jacquard point paper drawn up at Cash's, or J. & J. Cash Ltd in Coventry, England.

The labels themselves would likely have been woven in man-made fibres, in strips on a narrow-width Jacquard loom before they were cut down to size as individual labels. Many High Street clothing brands would have ordered these labels to be sewn into their garments.

Founded in 1846, by two brothers, John and Joseph Cash, they manufactured woven name tapes, name tags, ribbons and other woven products.

The company was sold to the Jones Stroud Group in 1976 and continued to make woven products until January 2014 when the company went into administration. In February 2014  The Jointak Group based in Hong Kong invested in the company and it reopened under the name "Cash's Apparel Solutions". They no longer make ribbons, but continue to present day to weave identity nametapes, together with woven pictures, cards and bookmarks.
