The original artwork was drawn up and was used by Jacquard furnishing fabric weaver Felix Vanoutryve, Roubaix, in 1907. The original artwork was referenced as Esquisse (a preliminary sketch) 21672, and presumably, this reference number could have given information about the artist's name. The original artwork was purchased in Frankfurt, Germany and was named ‘Morgan’ in homage to Arts and Crafts exponent, William De Morgan, who produced ceramics and interiors with a similar style.
