Our print is of an original point paper (ref Van 3295) and the original was drawn up in 1931 for Jacquard furnishing fabric weaver Vanoutryve in Roubaix. Based in northeast France, Roubaix is close to Lille and the Belgium border, a hotbed region of textile manufacturers.
The design company from which the Vanoutryve Mill purchased the design and draft point paper has stamped their company name on the reverse of the original point paper. Messers G. Domen & Cie who produced artwork and punched cards supplied technical services for many of the weavers in Roubaix at this time.
The original point paper is now part of an archive of Jacquard designs based in Bradford, England.
