18 Shades of Flower is an exuberant celebration of colour, movement, and botanical abundance. Sweeping leaves, exotic blooms, and layered foliage intertwine across the surface to create a richly immersive floral landscape. Rather than depicting a formal garden, the design evokes the sensation of wandering through a luxuriant tropical paradise where flowers and foliage overlap in a vibrant tapestry of shape and colour.

The original point paper design (ref. D6681), drawn for Jacquard weaving, demonstrates the extraordinary skill required to translate painterly effects into woven textiles. Every colour change, tonal transition, and contour was carefully mapped onto the grid, enabling the creation of punched cards that would guide the loom in reproducing the intricate design in cloth. The resulting textile would have showcased the full richness of the artist's vision, transforming thousands of individual woven threads into a seamless and expressive botanical composition.
